Our original Summer Butter is a rich, whipped blend of ethically sourced ingredients designed to nourish your skin while providing broad-spectrum mineral sun protection. Made with only five whole ingredients—each chosen for its skin-loving properties—this formula is water-resistant, deeply moisturizing, and completely free of synthetics, fragrances, or preservatives.
What’s Inside (and Why It Matters):
☼ Non-Nano Zinc Oxide (20%)
Zinc oxide is a physical UV filter that sits on the skin’s surface, reflecting both UVA and UVB rays. Ours is non-nano, uncoated, and pharmaceutical-grade—meaning it won’t be absorbed into your bloodstream and is safe for sensitive skin, children, and marine life. Zinc is also anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial, making it ideal for acne-prone or eczema-prone skin.
☼ Organic Virgin Coconut Oil
Cold-pressed and unrefined, this oil is rich in lauric acid, capric acid, and vitamin E, which help support the skin’s natural barrier and lock in hydration. Naturally antimicrobial and high in saturated fats, it gives Summer Butter its creamy, gliding texture.
☼ Raw Shea Butter
Harvested by hand from a women’s cooperative in Ghana, our shea butter is packed with cinnamic acid esters, oleic and stearic fatty acids, and vitamins A and E. It deeply softens the skin while helping soothe inflammation and UV damage.
☼ Local Beeswax
Beeswax helps create a breathable, water-resistant barrier on the skin while holding the formula together. Because we source locally from Southern California, our beeswax contains trace amounts of native pollen—supporting skin’s resilience to environmental irritants.
☼ Lanolin
Pharmaceutical-grade lanolin mimics the lipids naturally found in human skin, helping to prevent trans-epidermal water loss. It gives the butter its long-lasting hydration and melt-into-skin feel, making it perfect for sun-drenched days.
